Why Now
We cannot change what happened.
But remembrance should lead somewhere.
We have learned to commemorate. We have not yet learned to convert memory into capability. A date on a calendar, a plaque on a wall, a lesson in a single month — none of it tells a young person what to do on Monday.
Freedom Futures treats history as infrastructure. The same technologies reshaping the economy — immersive media, artificial intelligence, simulation, data — can also restore what was taken from the record and prepare people for what comes next.
The work is not to relive the past. It is to finish the sentence freedom started.
Memory, held well, becomes a set of instructions: who we are, what was built before us, and what remains unbuilt. That is the line this production follows — from the archive, to the person, to the thing they make next.
